Ayurveda and Yoga both draw their therapeutic gifts from the energies of the five elements: earth, water, fire, air and space. In this 100-hour training, you will deepen your practice and enhance your teaching vocabulary, immersing yourself in the materiality, movement, psychology, and philosophy of each element.
In this training you will:
- Predawn meditations to set the tone for each element
- Morning asanas with Alix Bemrose to ground the element in specific shapes, movements, sequences and techniques
- Midday study of practical Ayurvedic applications for each element, from constitutional analysis to dietary and herbal therapies, to the management of time
- Evening studies of the philosophical and spiritual implications of each element, drawn from creative reading and discussion of key texts including the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Yajnavalkya, Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipiki and the Gheranda Samhita.
