Essential Nature Restorative Yoga eases our minds and hearts into BE-ing more present, open and relaxed. As a complement to active and oftentimes vigorous practices of asana and pranayama, Restorative Yoga can address complex health issues such as poor digestion, depression, immune dysfunction, reproductive problems and chronic fatigue. It is a powerful stress management technique and a pathway to healing and self-discovery. Using Savasana—“the Tadasana of Restorative Yoga”— as our starting point, we will learn how to create an ethereal experience where the body can be fully irrigated with pranashakti, the primal life force. On this bridge between the physical and energetic spheres, we can access the embodied Divine, our Essential Nature.
This is a foundational exploration of multidimensional Restorative Yoga and includes:
Passive Restorative Poses: Postures that use props for support to facilitate a direct connection to the nervous system, and do not involve the physical dynamics of stretching, but focus on ease and release as a pathway to inner radiance and balance
Short Introduction to Yin and Yoga Nidra, both important parts of the Restorative Yoga Family
Anatomy of the Nervous System, with an emphasis on understanding and articulating the physiology of relaxation
Comprehensive Sequencing, for your classes including inversions, backbends, side-bends, twists, and several variations of Savasana
